3 Reasons Why we Love Cleveland, Ohio
The Cleveland Ohio community is like no other. From the amazing people, to the historical built homes and beautiful Lake Erie, what’s not to love about this City I don’t know. But I do know what is to love about it, so here are a few highlights:
The Beauty – Cleveland, Ohio is well-known for its breathtaking lakefront sceneries, Arts, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and even with its Cleveland Playhouse Theater District , nothing quite compares to the beauty and charm you witness driving west on Highway route 2 from Downtown East Cleveland and looking out over Lake Erie’s sparking waters approaching Cleveland’s own Historic Edgewater beach In between the first and the next few exits, there are a few spots where the hills cut away and you can look up and see Cleveland’s newly built Detroit Shoreway from almost any aerial view. The way that the mix of older architecture is tightly nestled against the much new more modern built condominiums and townhomes kind of makes you feel like you’re looking at The Pass and the future dancing in harmony and At night the lake might be still, but hundreds of little lights can be seen throughout the city and streets of Cleveland, each one giving off a warm glow and adding to the town’s almost painfully cute charm.
Now that we’ve heard one of Cleveland’s westside stories, let’s talk about its inner beauty. Upon reaching Cleveland’s Downtown Public Square, the streets are lined with historic buildings. They’re filled with little shops and storefronts, fabulous restaurants with much office space and Luxury apartments above that will give you a view over looking the city like none other. Cleveland has done an excellent job of updating Downtown Cleveland while still retaining its unique and historic charm. If you look up the side streets, you’ll find even more fine dining, Theaters, Comedy Clubs, breweries and Small bars, abounding with mostly medium to large sized luxury condominiums and apartments. Among the square and the edges of the Ohio River sits the elegant Historic Tower City buliding that lights up with different magical colors almost every other night and can be seen from almost any high peak point in the city.
The People – One time I was walking to a Cleveland Indians Game through downtown Cleveland and the streets were busy – many walkers and talkers and cars on the road. Then, out of nowhere, a person in a red suit with a gold Saxophone came walking down the main drag playing musical tunes as if he was contracted to entertain anyone in sight. His music made you feel good, at least it made me feel good. His acts were intentional i know because he was dressed really nice. (Maurice Reedus, Jr.)( R.I.P) (The Sax Man) here also is The Birth Place of (Drew Carey) one of Cleveland’s Own an American actor, comedian, and game show host. He performed at comedy clubs in Cleveland and Los Angeles, And Let’s not forget Cleveland brought you (Superman) The character that was created by writer (Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster) . Those are a few examples of the Iconic people you might see, but we’ve also got your standard hippies, yuppies, LBGT, artists, businesspeople, soccer moms, musicians, regular Joes, irregular Joes, and everything in-between. In my experience the great citizens of Cleveland tend to be kind hearted, generous, and genuinely interested in each other’s well-being. In-fact if you were Downtown Cleveland during The Black Lives Matter Protest following The Death of George Floyd you would have been convinced that Black Lives Surely Mattered to Cleveland, Ohio for it was all Lives Marching Together in Unity ( Every race, Every Color, Every Creed) Sure, we don’t always agree but when it matters most, the people of Cleveland, Ohio always come together, strap on their boots and gloves, and help each other out – be it shoveling a neighbor’s car buried in snow after a storm, cleaning up and maintaining our beautiful communities, planting young trees throughout our metro parks or working with kids to create and install art in our parks.
The Houses – We’re a real estate company so of course we’re interested in the houses. The houses here are seriously cool, funky, unique and many historic. The majority of the homes throughout Cleveland were built between the 1880’s and 1950’s, so there is a dynamic range of styles throughout the city with many newly built modern homes erecting daily. That being said, many have been extensively updated inside and/or meticulously preserved or restored on the exterior. From Victorian and craftsman style Colonial homes there’s a lot to see. There are some defining features of each neighborhood, but then there are always exceptions scattered amongst the “contributing” homes. You don’t have to walk far to see a house that catches your eye and makes you wonder what’s inside and the history behind it.
There are so many great things about Cleveland, it was hard to pick only a few. I guess I’ll just have to cruise the city again some other time. Until then, if you live in Cleveland, keep making it the charming little place it is. If you’ve never been, come pay us a visit and see for yourself why thousands visit each year, and why the residents of this beautiful community all love Cleveland Ohio.
